Privacy policy
Effective 2026-10-30. The Swedish version applies if the two differ.
This policy describes how the app Medborgarskapsprov – Älgen (shown as "Medborgarprov" on the home screen) handles personal data. In short: we only collect what the app needs to work. The app has no ads and no tracking, and we never sell data.
Who is responsible?
The data controller is Joakim Wallmark, who develops the app. Send questions about your data to support@jwdev.se.
The app is not affiliated with the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), the Swedish Migration Agency or any other authority.
What data is collected?
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Account. A random id is created when you open the app, even without signing in. If you sign in, we store your email address, an id from Apple or Google if you sign in with them, a name if the sign-in service provides one, and when you last signed in. | To save your progress and let you sign in on several devices. |
| Practice and exams. Your answers, sessions, practice exams, results and an estimate of your knowledge per chapter. | For statistics, choosing questions and showing what you need to practise. |
| AI tutor. The question you are looking at and what you write are sent to the AI service that writes the answer. We do not store the text of the conversation, only how many and how long your questions were. | To answer you and to keep track of quotas and costs. |
| Error reports. If you report a problem with a question, we store the reason and what you write. | To correct the questions. |
| Purchases. Apple or Google handle payment. We learn which product you bought, when, and whether it is active, but never your card details. | To give you premium. |
| ChatGPT or Claude connection. Only if you connect an AI assistant yourself. It can then read your results. We store which connections you have. | So the assistant can help you. The assistant's own terms apply to what you write there. |
| Technical data. The server sees your IP address when the app fetches questions and audio. | To deliver content, prevent abuse and fix problems. |
On your phone, the app stores a sign-in key and your chosen support language. The app uses no analytics tools and no ads.
Legal basis
We process the data to provide the service you chose to use (contract). Statistics on question difficulty, security and troubleshooting are based on legitimate interest. Those statistics use answers that are not linked to you.
Which services are used?
We use the following providers, which may only process the data on our behalf:
- Oracle Cloud: server and database, in Stockholm.
- Cloudflare: audio files, backups and this website.
- Resend: sends sign-in codes by email.
- Anthropic: the AI tutor (USA). Your name and email are not sent. Anthropic does not use the data to train its models.
- RevenueCat: keeps track of purchases (USA). It receives your random id but not your name or email.
- Apple and Google: sign-in and payment, under their own terms.
Transfers to the USA are protected under EU rules, for example the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long is data kept?
- Your account is kept until you delete it.
- An account without sign-in that has not been used for a year is automatically anonymised.
- Sign-in codes and expired keys are deleted within a few days.
- Backups are kept for 30 days.
When you delete your account
Your account, email address, sign-ins and what you wrote in error reports are deleted immediately. Your answers and results are kept without any link to you, under a new random id with no name or email, so we can calculate how difficult the questions are. Purchase records are kept without any link to you. Backups containing your data are deleted within 30 days. Read more under Delete account.
Your rights
You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have it corrected, deleted or restricted, to receive it in a machine-readable format, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email support@jwdev.se and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, imy.se.
Children
The app is made for people preparing for the citizenship test and is not aimed at children under 13.
Changes
If the policy changes, we update the date at the top. We announce larger changes in the app.
